About

Our seaside home is just yards from the Pacific Ocean and six short blocks to sandy beaches. The home comfortably fits up to six, featuring king and queen beds. We are in the heart of Bird Rock - just steps away from world-class coffee, wonderful restaurants, pubs, wine and charcuterie, live music, beautiful parks, the ocean and many other adventures.

Good to know

The house has a master bedroom with a king bed, a second bedroom with a queen bed, and an office with a couch that converts to a comfortable queen bed. There are ocean views from the backyard, dining and living rooms, as we are just steps from the ocean and tide pools.

Other Details to Note

Please note that Bird Rock does not have traditional sandy beaches, but these are just a lovely 10-15 minute walk either to the north or the south along the coast.

Bird Rock is a lively "walk around" community at the southwestern end of La Jolla on the Pacific Ocean coast. Here you'll find coffee shops, restaurants, shopping, live music, hiking trails, tide pools, and lots of fun activities. The Village of La Jolla is approximately 1.5 miles away - a nice walk along the coast, or a short bike or car ride. La Jolla has its own unique identity and is famously known for its historic charm, coastal beauty and wildlife, and premium shops and boutiques.

Greg’s house in Bird Rock definitely deserves 5+ stars. The house is full of charm and the gardens are simply beautiful. The location is wonderful as well. It’s walkable to several restaurants, coffee shops, and the best bakery in San Diego ( Wayfarer). The neighborhood is also very scenic and a joy to walk around. Greg is a very friendly and attentive host who is quick to respond and is very knowledgeable about the area and things to do. My husband and I would not hesitate to stay here again!

The house was comfortable and we enjoyed the lovely patio area. Greg checked in with us to be sure we had everything we needed. Great location within walking distance to restaurants and a bakery.

We really enjoyed staying inBirdrock and at Greg’s house. It was very cozy and comfortable. Greg was super nice and helpful. The backyard was lovely and had it been warmer we would’ve been out there the entire time. The views from the house were better than expected and the neighborhood was very walkable to coffee and food with lots of people out running and biking just in the neighborhood. Loved it.

Charming house with a garden. 1 block from the sea. Great tide pools. Quiet. Greg is a perfect host, super friendly, met us and gave us a tour, made local suggestions. He is a local so he knows everything. Our family of 4 really enjoyed the stay. The house is clean, everything works. Tastefully renovated master bath. Kitchen fully equipped. Great low key So-Cal vibe, great location. One of the best bakeries in San Diego a block away. Good restaurants too!

Loved this place, wonderful house responsive host and most of all accessible to everything I needed. Greg was an amazing host who checked in from time to time and made sure I had everything I needed. Would easily stay there again !

Much of Bird Rock and La Jolla is walkable, but pubic transit is also available just steps away on La Jolla Blvd, which will take you to Old Town, Downtown San Diego, or to the Mexican border if you wish. Uber/Lyft are also freely available. Turo has large selection of rental cars as well
